Core Values and Democracy

Mälaren Cricket Club (MCC) is made of members, and it is essential that we jointly take responsibility for upholding our fundamental values. We follow the shared values of sports, which emphasize joy and community, democracy and participation, everyone’s right to be involved, and fair play.

All players, leaders, employees, and other members are ambassadors for the club and must represent Mälaren CC in the best possible way, according to its values outlined below.

The seven key principles that should guide all our activities are Friendship, Integration & Inclusion contributing to Joy, Openness, Respect, and Responsibility (VI² can GÖRA!!).

Friendship
MCC fosters an open, family-like, and welcoming club environment.
Integration and Inclusion
MCC welcomes everyone in society, promoting participation regardless of background. Individuals from foreign backgrounds are encouraged to join and engage in sports.
Joy
MCC plays cricket to share joy both on and off the field.
Openness
MCC emphasizes democracy, equality, diversity, accessibility, and respect for all. This includes contributing to a dynamic, open, and democratic society with a focus on humanistic values and a commitment to inclusion and community development. Discrimination of any kind—based on gender, identity, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or age—is rejected.
Respect
MCC shows respect for equal human worth and actively opposes discrimination. The club works to promote equality and diversity.
Responsibility
MCC takes significant social responsibility for ensuring safety during training, on the field, and within the community. The club sets an example by clearly demonstrating what Mälaren CC stands for.

The values must be communicated to all players, leaders, and parents at the start of each season. Members who violate the values may risk exclusion. In case of incidents requiring action, the club follows its crisis management plan.

Equality and Inclusion in MCC

Equality
MCC creates a welcoming and inclusive club environment, providing equal opportunities for everyone (girls, boys, women, and men).
- Everyone has access to training, competitions, facilities, training schedules, and financial resources.
- Roles in sports, coaching, or the board should focus on skills and leadership, not gender.
Language Use
MCC encourages respectful language among all members, fostering a respectful tone both within and outside the club.
Sexual Harassment
MCC follows the Discrimination Act (2008:567), combating discrimination based on sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, gender, or identity. All forms of harassment or unjust treatment must be identified and countered.

Crisis Management Plan

For violations of MCC’s values or policies:

Discussion with involved parties.
Discussion with guardians (if applicable).
Report to the club/ Board.
Decision on necessary actions.
Documentation of the case.
Follow-up discussions with involved parties.

Match Day Standards

Before the Match
Leaders prepare by ensuring materials are ready and planning roles during the warm-up and match.
During the Match
Players and leaders focus on teamwork, plan strategies, and make adjustments as needed.
After the Match
Leaders and players thank the opponents and referees, reflect briefly on the game, and ensure the area is cleaned and materials collected.

Training Focus

Repeating key skills (bowling, fielding, batting) while introducing new techniques and improvements.
Emphasis on quality and tailored training for different age groups.
